Areas of Application

Scars

Scars are an integral part of the wound healing process and result from an overproduction of collagen at the wound site. Scars change over time, but are essentially permanent. Bi-Oil has been formulated to improve the appearance of scars, but cannot remove them. Bi-Oil should be massaged into the scar twice a day, in a circular motion, for a minimum of 3 months. On new scars, Bi-Oil should only be applied once the wound has healed. Bi-Oil should not be used on broken skin. Results will vary.

Stretch Marks

When the skin is stretched too quickly, it causes the dermis to tear. These tears heal as scars. These scars are visible on the skin's surface as stretch marks. The likelihood of developing stretch marks depends on skin type, ethnicity, age, diet and hydration of the skin. Stretch marks are most common in pregnant women, bodybuilders, teenagers experiencing growth spurts and during periods of rapid weight gain. Stretch marks are permanent. Bi-Oil has been formulated to improve the appearance of stretch marks, but cannot remove them. Bi-Oil should be massaged into the stretch marks twice a day, in a circular motion, for a minimum of 3 months. During pregnancy, Bi-Oil should be applied from the beginning of the second trimester to the areas most prone to stretch marks. These areas include the abdomen, breasts, lower back, hips, buttocks and thighs. Results will vary.

Uneven Skin Tone

An uneven skin tone can occur when the body produces varying amounts of melanin. This can be caused by external factors, such as overexposure to the sun, use of harsh skin lightening products or internal factors, such as hormonal changes due to pregnancy, menopause or contraceptive use. Bi-Oil helps to improve the appearance of an uneven skin tone. Bi-Oil should be applied to the affected areas of skin twice a day for a minimum of 3 months. Bi-Oil does not contain a sunscreen. Only apply sunscreen once Bi-Oil has been fully absorbed. Results will vary.

Aging Skin

Wrinkled skin, which occurs as we age, is caused primarily by the loss of support in the skin's collagen and elastin structure. Bi-Oil contains ingredients that help to support the skin's elasticity, leaving it feeling softer, smoother and more supple. This helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkled skin. Bi-Oil also hydrates the skin, which improves the texture, tone and appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Bi-Oil should be applied to the affected areas of skin twice a day. Results will vary.

Dry Skin

The skin's surface is covered by an invisible oily film that prevents moisture from being lost from the skin. In very dry climates, this oily film is often compromised, allowing moisture to escape from the skin. Daily bathing or showering can further deplete this oily film, as soap and water have a stripping effect. Bi-Oil replenishes the skin's natural oils, helping to restore the skin's barrier function against moisture loss. Bi-Oil should be applied twice a day. Results will vary.

Formulation

Bi-Oil's formulation is a combination of plant extracts and vitamins suspended in an oil base. It contains the unique ingredient PurCellin Oil™, which changes the consistency of the product, making it light and non-greasy, and ensures that the active ingredients contained in the vitamins and plant extracts are easily absorbed. Bi-Oil has been safety assessed in accordance with the European Cosmetics Regulation. The toxicological profile, chemical structure, absorption and total daily exposure of each ingredient have been assessed and deemed safe (including for use during pregnancy).

Vitamins

Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A Palmitate), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate).

Oil Base

Paraffinum Liquidum, Triisononanoin, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Isopropyl Myristate, Glycine Soja Oil, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Bisabolol, Fragrance (Rose), Parfum, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Coumarin, Eugenol, Farnesol, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool, Color, CI 26100.

Manufacturing

Bi-Oil is manufactured in accordance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) as laid down by the World Health Organization. All ingredients are tested for impurities and microbiological contamination prior to processing, a sample from each batch is laboratory tested and monitored for a period of 5 years. All Bi-Oil packaging is recyclable and all paper materials are certified in accordance with sustainable forestry programs. The production of Bi-Oil does not generate any harmful emissions, toxic waste or wastewater.
