Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel
Moisturising and protective eye drops (sodium hyaluronate 0.30%)

Wetting eye drops for moisturising and protecting the surface of the eye with hyaluronic acid. For intensive moisturising and long-lasting relief, especially in cases of severe and chronic dry eyes, including after diagnostic procedures on the eye. Sterile, phosphate-free solution without preservatives. Soothing, well-tolerated and long-lasting. Suitable for hard and soft contact lenses.

What is Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel?
Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel is a sterile, phosphate-free and highly viscous wetting agent in the innovative SafeDrop system, a preservative-free multi-dose container co-developed by OmniVision. It can be optimally applied with the help of the practical wide finger rest. Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel contains hyaluronic acid and serves to improve and prolong the moistening of the eye's surface. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that also occurs in the structures of the human eye and in the tear film, and is therefore particularly well-tolerated. It is characterised by a high water-binding capacity, adheres well to the surface of the eye (mucoadhesive properties) and is viscoelastic. Thus, Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel moistens, wets and protects the surface of the eye and ensures an even, stable and particularly long-lasting moisture film on the surface of the eye. Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel is very well suited for severe and chronic dry eyes or after diagnostic procedures on the eye. It provides sustained relief from symptoms such as dryness, irritation and mild irritation. Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel is well suited for wetting contact lenses. This significantly improves the wearing comfort of contact lenses.

Composition
Sodium hyaluronate (0.30%), sodium chloride, sodium citrate, citric acid, purified water.

Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel can be used for the following indications:

• for dry eyes, e.g. caused by Sjögren's syndrome or by taking medication.
• in case of environmental stress, e.g. due to air conditioning, wind, cold, dryness or air pollution, e.g. from cigarette smoke.
• in case of fatigue and visual stress due to intensive vision, e.g. on computer screens, microscopes or long car journeys.
• in case of mechanical stress, e.g. due to wearing hard or soft contact lenses or due to diagnostic procedures on the eye.

When should Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel not be used?
In case of existing hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Who is Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel suitable for?
Suitable for use in adolescents and adults. Pregnant women, breastfeeding women and infants should consult their doctor before using Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel.

What side effects can occur when using Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel?
After application, a temporary impairment of visual acuity (blurred vision) may occur. In this case, no vehicle should be driven and no machinery should be operated. It is advisable to wait until normal visual acuity has returned. Immediately after instillation, temporary symptoms, e.g. slight burning of the eyes, may occur.

What precautions and warnings should be observed?
Do not use if the SafeDrop multi-dose container is damaged. Do not touch the eye with the dropper tip to avoid infections or injuries to the eye. The dropper tip must not be touched with other objects or body parts. Do not use for the sole treatment of an eye infection. Do not use the eye drops after the expiry date. This is stated on each SafeDrop bottle and on the folding box. A single multi-dose container must not be used by several patients. Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel is not suitable as a storage solution for contact lenses. Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel should be kept out of the reach of children. If your symptoms persist while using Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel, please consult your ophthalmologist.

How is Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel used?
For external use only.

Step 1

Please document the date of first use in the space provided on the bottle label before using for the first time. Remove the protective cap before each use.

Step 2

Please perform several pressing movements before using the SafeDrop bottle for the first time until the first drop is produced. Hold the bottle upside down as shown in the illustration. Please avoid any contact of the dropper tip with your fingers and eyes.

Step 3

Hold the bottle as shown in the picture. Make sure that your thumb rests on the wide, non-slip, round finger rest.

Step 4

Now tilt your head back slightly (neck position) and gently pull the lower eyelid away from the eye with your free hand. Instil one to two drops of Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel into the conjunctival sac of each eye by pressing the pump mechanism once or twice. Make sure that the bottle is held upright. Slowly close your eyes so that Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel can spread evenly over the surface of the eye. Alternatively, if the drops are used in conjunction with contact lenses, apply one to two drops to each contact lens before inserting them into your eyes instead of putting the drops directly into your eyes. Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel can also be instilled while wearing contact lenses.

How often and for how long should Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel be used?
Use Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel as needed or as directed by your doctor. Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel is suitable for long-term use, however, as with all conditions, you should consult an ophthalmologist if symptoms persist. In the case of additional local treatment of the eyes, there should be a time interval of approx. 30 minutes between the two applications. Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel should be applied after the other products.

What storage and disposal instructions should be observed?
Store at 5°C to 25°C. Protect from frost and direct sunlight.

Information on the lot number and expiry date can be found on the bottle and on the folding box. After opening the bottle, Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel can be used for six months. Hylo-Vision SafeDrop Gel can be disposed of in household waste.
