Composition

Pumpkin seeds, Indian pennywort, frankincense, strawflower, vitamin E acetate, Australian tea tree, sodium hyaluronate, semi-synthetic glycerides.

Dosage form

Prosturol suppositories are available as suppositories for rectal use. One pack contains 10 or 30 suppositories of 2 g each.

Intended use

Prosturol suppositories are used to relieve and soothe local discomfort in the anorectal canal in acute and chronic prostatitis as well as benign prostatic enlargement, as can occur due to arterial blood congestion as a result of inflammatory stimuli.

Contraindications

Do not use the product if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.

Interactions with other products

No interactions with other products are known. Therefore, it is advisable to consult your doctor before using Prosturol suppositories together with other medical devices or medicines for rectal use.

Side effects

All locally applied products can lead to sensitization of the treated mucous membranes, especially with prolonged use. Discontinue treatment if you observe this in yourself and consult your doctor to discuss alternative therapies. If you experience any side effects, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

Instructions for use

Remove the suppository by pulling on the two preformed wings of the blister pack. Insert the suppository rectally. Wash your hands before and after using the medical device.

Time of application and duration of use

Use one suppository per day, preferably in the evening before going to bed or as recommended by your doctor. The duration of use depends on the improvement of your symptoms. If necessary, you can use Prosturol suppositories for a longer period of time.

Warnings

Keep the product out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes. The product must not be swallowed.

Shelf life, storage and disposal

The expiry date refers to the shelf life of the product in undamaged and correctly stored packaging. Do not use the product after the expiry date or if the packaging has been opened or damaged. Store the medical device protected from light and heat, preferably at a temperature between 4°C and 25°C. Medical devices should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacy about the proper disposal of unused medical devices. This helps to protect the environment.
