Jägermeister is a liqueur made from 56 herbs. The recipe for the liqueur has been around since 1934. Jägermeister is produced and bottled in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony. Jägermeister is drunk either neat (then ice-cold) or as a mixed drink. In addition to the classic long drinks with orange juice, cola, etc., there are a variety of recipes, e.g. with cocoa or milk. The Jägermeister logo refers to the legend of Saint Hubert and shows the head of a deer with a glowing cross between the tines of its antlers. The following poem by Otto von Riesenthal is on the bottle label: "It is the hunter's badge of honour that he protects and cherishes his game, hunts in a sportsmanlike manner, as is fitting, and honours the Creator in his creatures. Store cool and dry after opening. Not suitable for pregnant women
