- 800 grams floury potatoes
- 200 grams whipping cream
- Salt
- Ground pepper
- 1 tsp unsalted butter

Wash, peel, and thinly slice the potatoes. Then arrange the potato slices in a scale-like pattern in a greased gratin dish. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.

Pour the cream into a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Optionally, season with nutmeg as well. Then whisk everything together with a whisk.

Pour the cream sauce over the potatoes. Then bake the gratin in the preheated oven for approx. 45 minutes at 180 °C until golden brown.
Chef's tip
To save calories, you can replace half of the cream with milk. And if you want a cheese crust, simply sprinkle the gratin with grated Parmesan before baking.
