Ukiyo Japanese Blossom Gin is made from traditional Japanese Shōchū spirit. The alcohol from rice is enriched with juniper, mandarin and spices. Ukiyo Japanese Blossom Gin combines the aromas of violets, coriander, cherry blossoms and oranges. Its taste is therefore both fruity and floral, ideally underlining its mild and soft character.
Although the manufacturer Ukiyo is still young, the history of its spirits is much longer and begins in the Edo period. Even then, alcohol was distilled from the regionally grown rice. The idea of using this traditional alcohol for modern spirits, on the other hand, is new. Ukiyo now combines this Japanese tradition with traditional spirits from other countries and creates unique gins and an exquisite vodka. In addition to the traditional Japanese distillation methods, the spirits were also provided with aromas of native botanicals. The Sakura cherry blossoms have a high cultural significance and announce the beginning of spring in Japan. The spring festival "Hanami" is one of the most important festivals in Japan and also honors the pink-red blossoms of the cherry trees. The Yuzu fruit is a lemon-like fruit that is native to Japan and very popular. In addition to citrus aromas, it also has a strong herbal note and mild bitterness. Both the Yuzu fruit and the cherry blossoms are culinary gatekeepers of the Japanese world of taste.
