
Kohlrabi Schnitzel with Mashed Potatoes

Peel the kohlrabi and cut into 1 cm thick slices. Parboil them in boiling water for approx. 6 min.
Meanwhile, peel the potatoes and cut them into rough pieces. Bring to a boil in vegetable broth in a covered pot, then cook covered over low heat for approx. 12 min., then drain.
Meanwhile, in a deep plate, mix 100 ml water, flour, and sweet paprika and stir well. On a flat plate, mix hazelnuts and breadcrumbs. If a baby/toddler is eating along: coat the kohlrabi slices for the baby in the flour mixture, then in the nut-breadcrumb coating. Season the flour mixture generously with salt and pepper. Then coat the schnitzels for the adults. Fry all schnitzels over medium heat in two large pans with 3 tbsp frying oil each. Cook for approx. 3–4 min. per side.
