Sweet and chocolaty espresso blend from Ethiopia and Brazil

Creating a blend is always an exciting challenge for Hoppenworth & Ploch. With the Natural Blend, they want to emphasize the strengths of naturally processed coffees in espresso. Due to the drying, Naturals are often quite sweet and this sweetness comes out very well, especially when prepared with pressure and in combination with milk or milk alternatives.

The Natural Blend combines two of the most iconic origins of specialty coffee: Ethiopia and Brazil. The Ethiopian part of this coffee comes from the renowned Tega Tula Farm in Ethiopia. They strive to produce high quality coffee on an ecologically sustainable, economically viable and community friendly farm. The Brazilian counterpart to the Natural Blend comes from the Fazenda Nossa Senhora de Fatima, which is located in the Triangulo Mineiro, in the famous Cerrado region. The dark red soil typical for the region makes for an excellent cup. This farm produces only 100% organic coffee.

The Natural Blend from Hoppenworth & Ploch is perfect for fully automatic machines, portafilter machines or stovetop pots.

The young coffee roastery from Frankfurt am Main impresses, in addition to aromatic coffee creations, with three cafés in Frankfurt. The coffee is roasted on the in-house Giesen W30A roaster, built in 2019, on the other side of the Main, in Sachsenhausen.

The declared goal of roasting is to bring out the best possible taste of the highest quality green coffees from all over the world. A good coffee begins long before it lands in the Hoppenworth & Ploch roastery, because the taste and quality are sustainably influenced by the cultivation and harvesting of the coffee beans. Thus, they continue the dedicated work that has already been done and bring the aromas of various coffee varieties into the cup.

That's why they only buy from established green coffee traders with direct contact to the coffee farmers who offer the qualities they are looking for. They also do not buy anonymized green coffees, where insight into the local events is impossible.
