In order to be approved as Heilwasser, a water must meet strict requirements. For each mineral, a quantity is specified that a water must contain at least – the so-called reference values for a health effect*. Compare the prescribed amount of minerals and the values of Gerolsteiner Heilwasser.

Interactions:

The absorption and excretion of medicines can be influenced. The absorption of calcium is increased by vitamin D. The absorption of tetracyclines and biphosphonates from the intestine can be reduced by the simultaneous intake of Gerolsteiner Heilwasser. Thiazide diuretics can lead to increased, corticosteroids to decreased calcium levels in the blood. An increased calcium level in the blood can increase the risk of side effects of cardiac glycosides taken at the same time. Ask your doctor before use

None known Contraindications: Do not use in case of:

- restricted fluid tolerance in severe heart and kidney failure

- severe, acute gastrointestinal diseases

- calcium phosphate or infection stones

- urinary tract infections where alkalisation is not indicated (e.g. with E. coli)

- abnormally increased bone loss (e.g. bone cancer)

- hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland)

- hyperparathyroidism (overactive parathyroid gland) - excessive intake of vitamin D
