BIO Leek

The origin of the vegetable, which is often called leek in this country, is believed to be in the Mediterranean region. The leek stalk is white to green and has a strong onion-like flavor. Leek can be used to season dishes with its aroma or even as a main component.

First, the leek is washed thoroughly to remove any sand or soil residue from the stalk. Then it is slightly shortened at the root and the green leaves are trimmed a little if necessary so that the whole leek can then be processed. It goes well with meat and fish, as well as potatoes, but also as a component in casseroles, soups or quiches.
