Ukiyo Japanese Rice Vodka

Ukiyo Japanese Rice is a vodka from Japan. The foundation is locally grown rice in the shadow of the Sakurajima volcano in Kagoshima. Ukiyo translates as floating world and symbolizes living in the moment. First, shochu is created from the rice. This is distilled several more times according to Japanese tradition until it shows its soft aromas. Aromas of violets and lemon unfold in the nose. It tastes soft, sweet and floral. The result is a very soft, mild vodka.

This exquisite vodka is perfect for sophisticated cocktails and offers an incomparable base for mixed drinks. Its expressive yet smooth flavor profile makes it a favorite among vodka lovers and connoisseurs.

Although the manufacturer Ukiyo is still young, the history of its spirits is much longer and begins in the Edo period. Even then, alcohol was distilled from the regionally grown rice. However, the idea of using this traditional alcohol for modern spirits is new. Ukiyo now combines this Japanese tradition with traditional spirits from other countries and creates unique gins and an exquisite vodka. In addition to the traditional Japanese distillation methods, the spirits were also infused with aromas of local botanicals. The sakura cherry blossoms have a high cultural significance and herald the beginning of spring in Japan. The spring festival "Hanami" is one of the most important festivals in Japan and also honors the pink-red blossoms of the cherry trees. The yuzu fruit is a lemon-like fruit that is native to Japan and very popular. In addition to citrus aromas, it also has a strong herbal note and mild bitterness. Both the yuzu fruit and the cherry blossoms are culinary gatekeepers of the Japanese world of flavors.
