Omami Chickpea Tofu Tasty Nature

Happy Omami recipe: Sticky Orange Tofu – sweet, spicy, fruity

Ingredients:
• 1 broccoli, cut into florets
• 1 small zucchini, halved and cut into 1 cm thick strips
• 200 g sugar snap peas
• 250 g rice
• 50 g cornstarch
• 1 pack of omami-Tasty Nature Tofu, cut into cubes
• 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
• 1 tsp chilli flakes
• 120 ml orange juice without pulp
• Zest of one small orange
• 50 g sugar
• 1 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tbsp rice vinegar
• 1 tsp sesame oil
• 4 tbsp sunflower oil
Preparation:
1. Remove 2 tbsp of the 50g cornstarch and mix it with a little water in a small bowl to form a viscous mass.
2. Cook the rice according to the package instructions.
3. Fill a large saucepan halfway with water, bring to a boil and place a sieve on top. Place the broccoli florets in the sieve and steam until al dente with the lid closed.
4. Heat a pan with approx. 2 tbsp sunflower or rapeseed oil, add half of the chopped garlic, as well as the sugar snap peas. Fry for approx. 2 minutes. Add the zucchini strips and fry everything for approx. 3 minutes. Finally, toss the broccoli with the remaining vegetables. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Pat the tofu dry, cut into cubes, place in a bowl and cover with the remaining cornstarch. Season with salt and pepper.
6. Heat a pan with 2 tbsp sunflower or rapeseed oil until very hot and roast the tofu on all sides until golden brown. Place in a bowl and set aside.
7. Heat a small saucepan with sesame oil, add chilli flakes and the remaining garlic and fry for approx. 1 minute. Deglaze with orange juice, add soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar and orange zest. Mix everything together.
8. Add the thickened cornstarch and bring to a boil so that the sauce thickens slightly.
9. Mix the tofu with the sauce and coat evenly.
10. Put some rice on a plate, arrange the vegetables next to it and spread the marinated tofu on the rice.
