Kikok Chicken – Sustainability, animal welfare and taste at the highest level

Since 1994, our Kikok chickens have stood for outstanding animal welfare, ethical rearing and unadulterated taste. Our strict regulations and regular inspections by independent institutes guarantee the highest standards in all areas.

Procedures and philosophy

Our chicken farming often exceeds the generally applicable classifications. An example of this is our renunciation of antibiotics, which is not covered by the conventional classification. In order to guarantee the health of our animals without antibiotics, we offer them more space in the barn, a wide variety of activities and ensure stress-free development, although our barns do not have a winter garden.

Animal welfare and sustainability

Our slow rearing of the chickens has a positive effect on animal welfare and guarantees an aromatic taste. Due to the reduced stocking density of a maximum of 30 kg per m² compared to the conventional 39 kg per m², our chickens have more space and like to use this freedom.

No genetic engineering and feeding

The feed for our Kikok chickens is GMO-free, certified according to VLOG. The corn content of at least 50% gives the skin of our chickens its characteristic golden yellow color. All feed is vegetarian and of the highest quality.

Antibiotic-free rearing

Thanks to the robust health of our slow-growing chickens, we do not need antibiotics. Only animals treated in an emergency leave the Kikok program.

Short transport routes

Our network consists of regional partner companies, which leads to extremely short transport routes of an average of no more than one hour. This reduces stress for the animals and at the same time minimizes the environmental impact.

Responsibility and commitment

Our rearing farms, which have been working according to the visions of the brothers Heiner and Werner Borgmeier for over 30 years, are fully aware of their great responsibility. Compliance with the strictest criteria guarantees the highest meat quality and ensures maximum enjoyment for the consumer.

Sustainable packaging

Our commitment to sustainability is also reflected in the packaging. We have reduced the plastic consumption by approx. 80% and use FSC®-certified materials. The packaging is easily separable and recyclable, which minimizes both material and food waste.
