Original Hungarian Salami 400 g
PICK Original Hungarian Salami is by far the most well-known and important foreign salami on the German market. Made from selected raw materials according to a recipe that has been maintained for over 150 years, the salami is gently cold smoked over beech wood for about 10 days. In a special 70 m high maturing tower, a grey-white noble mould coating forms on the product surface during the subsequent maturing period of at least 80 days. In addition to the mild seasoning, this noble mould coating gives the Hungarian salami its inimitable taste and special appearance.
About the producer:
Márk Pick – this name marks the beginning of the history of the Hungarian salami that is now world-famous. Founded in 1869, the traditional company still has its headquarters in Szeged in southern Hungary today. The picturesque university town is something of a culinary melting pot for the country.
Here on the fertile course of the Tisza River, a true top-class product is created from the best ingredients and according to the original recipe by Márk Pick: the original Hungarian salami, which is still inseparably linked with the name PICK today. In addition, PICK currently operates four other production facilities in Hungary, which specialise in the production of different product groups. Since going public in 1992, PICK has been a public limited company, now belongs to the Bonafarm Group and exports its multiple quality-certified specialities worldwide.
In Germany, the sausage and salami specialities have been sold through the company's own sales channels since 1998. Today, PICK Deutschland GmbH, based in Monheim am Rhein, ensures that the original from PICK also makes gourmets' hearts beat faster in this country.
