Fruit Base
- 200 g frozen blueberries
- 1 tsp cornstarch
Crumble Topping
- 50 g rolled oats
- 30 g unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp liquid honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Preparation
- 1Preheat the oven to 180–185 °C top/bottom heat. Prepare a suitable baking dish (approx. 20 cm x 25 cm).
Preparation of the Crumble Topping
- 1Place the oats in a large bowl. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat (approx. 2–3 minutes) and then pour it over the oats. Add honey, vanilla extract, and cinnamon and mix everything well until a crumbly mixture forms.
Layering and Baking
- 1Place the frozen blueberries directly into the baking dish, sprinkle with cornstarch, and mix gently. Distribute the prepared oat mixture evenly over the berries, ensuring they are completely covered.
- 2Place the dish in the oven and bake the crumble for 15–20 minutes until golden brown. Remove the finished crumble from the oven, divide into 6 portions, and serve warm for best results.
Tip
The crumble tastes excellent with a dollop of fresh yogurt or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A few fresh blueberries as a garnish also go wonderfully with it.
