Main Ingredients & Sauce

  • 360 g chicken breast fillet without skin
  • 15 g cornstarch
  • 20 g rapeseed oil
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 30 g liquid honey
  • 20 g soy sauce
  • 50 ml chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 42 g garlic cloves

Side Dish

  • 200 g Basmati rice

Garnish

  • 1 handful fresh flat-leaf parsley

Preparation

  • 1
Cut the chicken breast into cubes of approx. 2 x 2 cm.
  • 2
Place the chicken cubes, cornstarch, and a portion of the salt into a sealable container. Close the lid and shake vigorously until all pieces of meat are evenly coated with the starch.
  • 3
For the sauce, mix the honey, soy sauce, chicken broth (or water), lemon juice, and the remaining salt in a cup. Peel and finely press the garlic, then stir it in as well. Set the sauce aside.

Instructions

  • 1
Heat the rapeseed oil in a large pan. Fry the floured chicken pieces over high heat for approx. 6–8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  • 2
Reduce the heat to medium. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken in the pan and let everything simmer for 4–6 minutes until the sauce becomes nicely thick and glossy.
  • 3
Meanwhile, cook the rice in salted water according to package instructions.
  • 4
Sprinkle the finished Honey Garlic Chicken with freshly chopped parsley and serve with the rice.
