- 4 pieces Hot Dog Sausages
- 4 pieces Hot Dog Buns
- 2 pieces Tomatoes
- 1 piece Yellow Onion
- 4 pieces Pickled Gherkins
- 8 pieces Pickled Jalapeño Rings
- 2 tbsp Medium-hot Mustard
Preparation
- 1Prepare a large pot with a steamer insert. Steam the hot dog sausages for about 5 minutes until hot. Alternatively, the sausages can be grilled until golden brown on all sides.
- 2Meanwhile, finely dice the onion, slice the tomatoes, and quarter the gherkins lengthwise.
- 3Once the sausages are ready, place them in the hot dog buns. Slide the tomato slices and gherkin quarters alongside the sausage into the bun.
- 4Evenly distribute the diced onions and jalapeño rings over them. Add some pickle relish if desired.
- 5Finally, add a generous strip of mustard over the hot dog and serve immediately.
Tip
For a particularly authentic experience, you can briefly steam the buns with the sausages or toast them on the grill.
