  • 4 pieces Hot Dog Buns
  • 2 pieces Tomatoes
  • 1 piece Yellow Onion
  • 4 pieces Pickled Gherkins
  • 8 pieces Pickled Jalapeño Rings
  • 2 tbsp Medium-hot Mustard

Preparation

    Prepare a large pot with a steamer insert. Steam the hot dog sausages for about 5 minutes until hot. Alternatively, the sausages can be grilled until golden brown on all sides.

    Meanwhile, finely dice the onion, slice the tomatoes, and quarter the gherkins lengthwise.

    Once the sausages are ready, place them in the hot dog buns. Slide the tomato slices and gherkin quarters alongside the sausage into the bun.

    Evenly distribute the diced onions and jalapeño rings over them. Add some pickle relish if desired.

    Finally, add a generous strip of mustard over the hot dog and serve immediately.
Tip
For a particularly authentic experience, you can briefly steam the buns with the sausages or toast them on the grill.
