Ingredients Onion Chutney & Base

  • 2 Red Onions
  • 3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Cane Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Liquid Honey
  • 1 sprig Fresh Thyme
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Ground Pepper (to taste)
  • Chili Spice

Ingredients Dip

  • 2 tbsp Natural Yogurt
  • 1 sprig Fresh Flat-leaf Parsley
  • 1/2 clove Garlic

Ingredients Burger

  • 2 pieces Halloumi Cheese
  • Herb Mix
  • 2 Hamburger Buns
  • 1 Tomato
  • 2 Iceberg Lettuce Leaves
  • 2 Pickles

Preparation Onion Chutney

    Peel the onions, halve them, and cut them into thin slices.

    Heat olive oil in a pan and fry the onions until golden brown. Then add sugar to lightly caramelize it.

    Now add the remaining spices and let everything simmer over low heat until half of the liquid has evaporated. Finally, stir in a teaspoon of honey and season with salt.

Preparation Herb Dip

    Mix the ingredients for the dip and season to taste. Then simply store the dip in the refrigerator.

Preparation Burger

    Brush the halloumi cheese with olive oil and rub with dried thyme. Place the cheese on the grill or in a pan and grill or fry until golden yellow.

    Slice the onions and briefly fry them with a little olive oil.

    Spread the prepared dip on the bottom half of the bun and place lettuce leaves on top. Now arrange the grilled halloumi cheese on the lettuce leaves. On top of the halloumi cheese, place a slice of tomato and a few cucumber slices. Then spread the onion chutney over the vegetable slices and finally spread the dip on the top half of the bun to cover the burger.
Tip
You can serve the onion chutney hot or cold. The chutney can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. As a side dish, we recommend grilled vegetables, asparagus, or salad.
